We are a group of three physicians, Drs. Tuan, Baron and Behler, and we are proud to practice with an outstanding group of nurses and support staff to serve our patients.

Some highlights that differentiate our practice include the following:

We are the only practice in the Bay Area that has our own dedicated oncology pharmacist to ensure safety and accuracy in managing the many medications we deal with.

We were the first practice to deploy an oncology specific electronic health care record to facilitate good communication between us and the other doctors involved in a person’s care.

Our physician staff continue to provide leadership in important areas at our affiliated institution California Pacific Medical Center:

Dr. Baron serves as Chief of the Division of Hematology Oncology, and leads quality improvement for the medical center in our field. Among the many projects he has led, we have just released multilingual teaching videos on oncology care in Spanish, Chinese and Russian to improve our cross-cultural capacity to teach and care for our patients. In addition, Dr Baron is the Director of Clinical Oncology Research, and has been coauthored on many important studies including the trial that led to the FDA approval of Avastin in colon cancer, and Opdivo in bladder cancer. Clinical research continues to be his main focus.

Dr. Behler is the Medical Director for Oncology Education at CPMC, and coordinates the educational development for the medical residents who help manage our patients if they are admitted to the hospital. In addition, she is an expert in hematological malignancies, a skill she developed while serving as chief of Hematology while at SF VAMC and UCSF.

Our nurses are outstanding, providing compassion and excellence in their care of our patients. Many of our nurses have achieved the important designation of oncology certification (OCN) from the Oncology Nursing Society, and together have decades of experience from which to draw. 

Finally, our administrative team, led by our manager Michelle Tang, work to provide seamless and efficient care through coordination and support. We have a team of financial counselors to work with patients to understand and manage the insurance issues, and authorization staff who advocate for patients needs with insurance companies.
